Damage to Dinosaurs Highlights Need For Secure Access
Last week, a member of the public sadly reported damage to the Grade 1 listed stone dinosaur sculptures at Crystal Palace Park. The Friends of Crystal Palace Dinosaurs shared an announcement on their website; the damage is suspected to be the result of an act of vandalism and has been reported to the police. Donations for repairs and to support the FCPD can be made here.
Such damage highlights the need for secure access to Dinosaur Island, where the dinosaurs are located. Later this year, the Dinosaur Swing Bridge will be installed at the park and will provide such access for essential maintenance as well as educational trips. When not in use, the bridge ‘swings’ 90 degrees and floats gently above the water.
